Renewable Electricity Generation Bill

Clause 13 allows the Department to make regulations which will require electricity generator in receipt of a Contract for Difference to make arrangements for payment of specified community benefit to specified persons. The regulations may set out:

• the frequency of such payments;
• that the payment may be calculated based on the amount of electricity generated;
• that the payments may be payable to persons owning property or residing within a specified locality of a generating station;
• that the payments may be payable to persons specified in the allocation scheme for the Contract for Difference;
• the payments may have to be advertised by the generator; and
• arrangements for monitoring such payments.
