Clause 10 - Ecosystem services
Clause 10 introduces a new Schedule 1A that defines the ecosystem services which can justify issuing a TPO. The Schedule groups these services into three categories—cultural, regulating, and supporting—and provides examples of the types of benefits each category covers. This gives councils a clearer, more structured basis for protecting trees on ecological and societal grounds beyond traditional amenity considerations.
