Call for Evidence - General Teaching Council Bill

Overview

The General Teaching Council Bill was formally introduced to the Assembly on Monday 24 November 2025. The Bill undertook its Second Stage on Tuesday 2 December 2025 with the Committee Stage commencing immediately thereafter. 

 In order to inform the Committee Stage of the Bill, the Committee for Education would welcome your views/comments on the contents of the Bill. 

What happens next

Following the closure of this call for evidence and views the Committee will consider all written and oral evidence before moving to deliberate on the Clauses of the Bill. The Committee will summarise its process in a report to the Assembly which may recommend amendments.
